INDIO, Calif. (AP) - A speeding car has collided head-on with a school bus on an Indio street, injuring both drivers and a third adult.

The California Highway Patrol says three students aboard the bus were wearing seatbelts and weren’t hurt when it was struck and overturned Friday morning.

The CHP says the car was speeding when it went out of control. Investigators are trying to determine whether alcohol or drugs may have been a factor.

The driver, 29-year-old Edgar Lopez of Indio, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The CHP says he and the bus driver, 34-year-old Elizabeth Lozano of Indio, were seriously injured.

An adult on the bus had minor injuries.
