PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (AP) - Police say a Rhode Island man pulled over on St. Patrick’s Day on suspicious of impaired driving had hundreds of marijuana-laced candies in his vehicle.
Portsmouth police say 47-year-old David Joseph Myrick, of Providence, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
Officers say Myrick’s car was swerving in and out of the breakdown lane. Police say he failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit to chemical breath tests.

During a search of his vehicle, police say they found more than 700 individually wrapped marijuana candies with named like Tangerine Mango, Pina Colada, and Tootie Fruity.
The attorney general’s office is reviewing the case and more charges could be filed.
Myrick is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
