PHOENIX (AP) - A former Phoenix Fire Department captain has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for aggravated assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Jeffrey Charles Wilson was sentenced Wednesday after pleading no contest last month.
The 54-year-old Wilson originally was charged with sexual assault, kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in September 2016.
Police say Wilson drove up to a 19-year-old woman walking on a Glendale street and asked if she needed a ride.
The woman said no, but Wilson got out of his car and chased her.
Police say Wilson caught up to the woman, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her under a bridge where he sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
