NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two workers died when the scaffolding collapsed as they were building an elevator shaft at a Florida condominium complex.

Naples police Lt. Seth Finman told news outlets the men were inside a temporary bucket elevator that fell some 110 feet (33 meters) on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened at a high-rise condominium complex in Naples on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Police said the men were building the outside elevator for crews to use to do painting and maintenance on the building.

The names of the workers haven’t been released.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
