JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Officials are reopening two lakes in the Mississippi Delta to boating as floodwaters recede.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks says boating can resume on Wolf Lake in Yazoo County and Moon Lake in Coahoma County.

The lakes were closed because floodwaters presented unsafe conditions and boat wakes could have further damaged property.

Officials say water levels remain above normal and urge boaters to avoid damaging any structure that may still be flooded.

Boaters are restricted to no-wake speeds on Moon Lake until waters recede even more.
