ANALYSIS/OPINION:

In recent months when young people were leaving school to protest guns in America, there was a local girl who was given show time to say that the biggest lie perpetrated about guns was that they do not kill. This is sad on many levels. With some common sense, this girl and those who brainwashed her would see the wrong of what she was parroting.

By themselves, guns cannot do anything. They cannot move from their gun safes. They cannot point themselves at anyone. They cannot pull their own triggers. People do these things. If you really want to stop people killing other people with the instrument of a gun, change the morals of the people. Show them that using a real gun really kills. Using a gun against someone who has hurt you is not a right, nor is it an electronic game in which those killed get up again.

Adding gun laws in the belief that such rules will stop mentally ill and evil people is the real lie. There should be laws about the people buying and using guns. There should be a requirement that someone buying a gun must take a course at a licensed gun range to study the proper use of that gun and all guns. The course should include practice with an instructor, learning how to care for the gun and watching videos on what damage the gun’s bullets will do to flesh. No one should get a new gun until they know how to properly and safely use it.

Stop blaming the instrument and start blaming the human and those who failed to teach them right from wrong.
