CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police say officers fatally shot an armed man during the second of encounters outside his home.

Police said Saturday that no officers were injured during the incident late Friday that began when officers responded to a report of a suicidal person with a gun.

According to police, 84 year old Kay Kenniker fired once at officers making contact with him outside his home and that the officers took cover and called for backup.

According to police, Kenniker then entered his home and got a rifle before going to his backyard where officers fired at Kenniker when he raised his rifle toward them.

Police said previously that Kennifer fired at officers during the second encounter.
