OGDEN, Utah (AP) - An Ogden-based attorney accused of trying to bring drugs into a Utah jail has pleaded guilty to the charges.

The Standard-Examiner reports 55-year-old Tony Miles pleaded guilty Wednesday to two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.

Authorities say Miles tried to smuggle drugs into Weber County Jail in April 2017.

According to court documents, he allegedly tried to bring a contact lens case containing cocaine and heroin into the jail. He also allegedly used a false name to enter the jail and meet with two incarcerated people.

Miles also entered a plea in abeyance to a misdemeanor drug possession charge at the hearing Wednesday. The charge is related to separate case.

Miles is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
