BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A driver police say was drunk has crashed into two police cruisers, sending one officer to the hospital.
A spokesman for Brockton police tells The Enterprise officers were responding to a hotel in the city at about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Two police SUVs were parked outside the Elmcourt Hotel when they were struck by the driver’s minivan.
One officer was in one of the vehicles at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
The spokesman says the van’s driver told police he was “tipsy” and officers could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. The driver was also taken to the hospital.
No names were released, but police expect to charge the driver with operating under the influence.
