Adrian Peterson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday.
This is the ninth time Peterson has earned the award, and his first since Week 6 of the 2017 season. Peterson is coming off a performance in which he rushed for a season-high 149 yards on 26 attempts. He also scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving.
Peterson has been the main source of offensive for the Redskins this season and has 587 rushing yards for four touchdowns. The 33-year-old went unsigned until August.
After the Redskins’ win against the Giants, Peterson was widely praised for having a “vintage” performance.
