MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s top administration officer says state revenues exceeded expectations in August.
Administration Secretary Susanne Young said Tuesday that the General, Transportation and Education funds all exceeded expectations last month.
The General Fund came in 5.3 percent, or $4.3 million, ahead of projections. The Transportation Fund came in 1.4 percent, or $2.6 million ahead of its target, and the Education Fund was .4 percent or $170,000 ahead of projections.
Collectively the three funds have generated almost $300 million in the fiscal year that began July 1.
Year to date, the General Fund is 2.1 percent above projections and the Transportation fund is 5.8 percent ahead of projections. The Education Fund is less than 1 percent below the forecast.
Young says all three funds “continue to reflect solid positive gains.”
