Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will visit North Korea next month, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert confirmed on Wednesday.

“Secretary Pompeo accepted Chairman Kim’s invitation to travel to Pyongyang next month to make further progress on the implementation of the commitments from the U.S.-DPRK Singapore Summit,” Ms. Nauert said.

The visit will focus on working out more details of the denuclearization process and the second summit between President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un.

Mr. Trump told reporters Wednesday that his administration would announce more details about the second summit “in the very near future.”

The president will hold a conference Wednesday evening to address the U.N. General assembly and news of the day, including more information about North Korea.
