El Paso County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby says dangerous terrain and cold weather has hampered the search.
Another challenge for searchers are the many trails, both established and unmarked, in the area.
Rudnicki is a junior at the University of Wyoming where he is studying watershed management and wants to work for the U.S. Forest Service after graduation.
