PHOENIX (AP) - An Arizona man was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for his conviction for hindering prosecution in the 2017 shooting death of his brother’s girlfriend.

The plea deal made last month by Maxx Bowe calls for murder and kidnapping charges against him in the death 21-year-old Taylorlyn Nelson to be dismissed.

Authorities said Bowe’s brother, Kodi Bowe, fatally shot Nelson inside the trailer they shared in north Phoenix after Kodi Bowe had gotten upset with her.

Investigators also said Maxx Bowe held down Nelson’s shoulders while Kodi Bowe shot.

Four months later, divers recovered Nelson’s body at Lake Pleasant, located about 40 miles (or 64 kilometers) north of downtown Phoenix.

Kodi Bowe had previously pleaded guilty to murder in Nelson’s death.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 10.
