WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say arrest warrants have been issued following weekend shootings in which two men died and a third was injured in eastern Arkansas.
The West Memphis Police Department says the shootings occurred early Saturday at a building in West Memphis, about 122 miles (196 kilometers) northeast of Little Rock.
Authorities say one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another died later at a local hospital. Authorities say the third victim was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The names of the shooting victims were not immediately released.
Police say they have obtained arrested warrants for two 23-year-old men in connection with the shootings.
Authorities say police patrols in the area are being increased in an attempt to prevent further violence.
