PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a driver racing another motorist on a Philadelphia street was killed when his vehicle crashed and caught fire, trapping him inside.

The accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say a 23-year-old man was racing another driver when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. It then plowed into a fence and caught fire.

The man apparently was alone in his vehicle. His name has not been released.

The other driver fled the scene and remained at large Monday.

The crash remains under investigation.
