SUTTON, Mass. (AP) - Police are trying to track down the motorist whose vehicle struck and killed a man who was out for a run in the central Massachusetts town of Sutton.
The Worcester District Attorney’s office has identified the victim as 51-year-old Daniel DeLima, of Millbury. He was pronounced dead after being found Wednesday on the front lawn of a home.
Investigators believe DeLima was running on Singletary Avenue around 6:30 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop.
The DA’s office says it is looking for a white SUV with probable damage on the front passenger side.
The victim’s friend, Eduardo Perez, told WHDH-TV that DeLima was a “wonderful person” who loved to run and had achieved a personal goal last year of running in the Paris Marathon.
