BETHEL, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man is heading to court to face a first-degree manslaughter charge in connection with a fatal weekend stabbing.

Police say 34-year-old David MacDowell is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Danbury Superior Court in the death Saturday morning of a woman in Bethel. He is being held on $1 million bond. MacDowell’s case was not listed in online court records and it’s not clear if he has an attorney.

Police responded to a residence on Plumtrees Road at about 1 a.m. and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital where she died.

Her name has not been made public.

Police say the stabbing remains under investigation.

The News-Times reports that Bethel’s last homicide was a murder-suicide in March 2016.
