CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia woman has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after she admitted to stabbing a clerk and slashing her neck during a robbery.
News outlets report Tiffany Priestley was sentenced Monday for the August 2018 attack and robbery at Tammy’s Coffee House in Cross Lanes.
The clerk survived the stabbing. She told the court Monday that Priestley kept telling her to stop fighting and that she was going to have to kill her because there couldn’t be any witnesses. Priestley also hit the clerk with a microwave during the attack and turned off the business’s “Open” sign before leaving.
The 28-year-old Priestley apologized during the hearing, saying she couldn’t imagine the pain she’s caused.
Priestley pleaded guilty to a first-degree robbery charge in June.
