NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee lawmaker is in stable condition after being injured in a rollover crash.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Republican Rep. Jeremy Faison was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound on I-40 in the left lane on Friday when he went to cross into the right lane. Faison’s truck crossed into the path of a tractor trailer, where that driver attempted to brake but was unable to avoid colliding with Faison’s truck.

Faison’s vehicle went off the road, hit a guardrail and then rolled several times.

The lawmaker from Cosby is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The crash report stated Faison was not wearing a seatbelt.

An investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed.
