President Trump on Wednesday cheered on Nick Sandmann, the Covington Catholic High School student caught in a viral video controversy last month, in his lawsuit against The Washington Post.

Mr. Sandmann and his fellow students were a part of a confrontation with a group of Native American activists after the March For Life in January.

At first, the story was framed as the students taunting a Native American elder, Nathan Phillips, but the narrative grew more complicated as other videos surfaced and showed other confrontations with Black Hebrew Israelites.

On Tuesday, Mr. Sandmann’s attorneys filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Post, arguing that they targeted their client in pursuit of a political agenda against the president.
