CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Guards at three South Carolina prisons have been arrested in separate incidents.

News agencies report that two women are accused of sexual misconduct with inmates and a man is accused of smuggling tobacco for “ill-gotten gains.”

They quote a news release as saying Tiffany Rochelle Chandler-Starks is accused of sending sexually explicit photos and videos to inmates at maximum-security Perry Correctional Institution.

Cheryl Huggins is accused of sexual intercourse with an inmate at medium-security Evans Correctional Institution.

Lester Charles Smith II is accused of trying to bring about 700 grams (more than 1½ pounds) of tobacco to an inmate in Ridgeland Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison.

It was not clear whether any of them had attorneys who could speak for them.
