ARTESIA, Miss. (AP) - Officials continue investigating a shooting that left three men dead in northeast Mississippi.
Local news outlets report the Tuesday shooting at an Artesia mobile home killed 22-year-old Mauricio Nance of Columbus, 31-year-old Demario Snell of Artesia and 24-year-old Tyshun Fields of Crawford.
Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge says deputies have an unidentified person in custody for questioning. The person hadn’t been charged with a crime as of late Wednesday.
Arledge says two victims were found inside the mobile home and the third victim was found outside the home.
The sheriff is appealing for witnesses to come forward with information and hasn’t said whether he knows what motivated the shooting.
Deputies spent part of the day Wednesday looking for a weapon while residents in the 400-person town grieved.
