BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania jury has concluded a police officer shouldn’t be held liable for injuries to a suspect he was pursuing the wrong way down a one-way street.

A Bethlehem Township man was injured in 2014 when he was struck by Officer Joshua Hobson’s patrol car. Hobson was driving without emergency lights or a siren.

Hobson was responding to a disturbance at a corner bar. Anthony Ray Rivera testified he had had several drinks and was banging on the bar’s window trying to get in.

Rivera was running away when he was struck by Hobson’ car. Rivera’s injuries kept him in the hospital for 15 days.

The Morning Call reports the jury concluded Wednesday that Hobson didn’t act negligently and that Rivera should have been aware officers were pursuing him
