JAMESTOWN, R.I. (AP) - Police say a man has died after he was run over by landscaping equipment in Rhode Island.
Authorities say a landscaping contractor was operating a skid steer machine in Jamestown Thursday morning when the contractor backed into the 86-year-old man.
The man was transported to Newport Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police say it appears the man entered the work area and fell unbeknownst to the contractor.
The man’s name has not been released.
Police say the contractor worked for Atlantic Lawn and Garden of Jamestown.
An investigation is ongoing.
