GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police have opened a murder investigation after the bodies of two people were found in an apartment fire they say was intentionally set.

WFMY in Greensboro reports police say firefighters responding to a call Wednesday night said a man was found inside the apartment and police said Thursday a second body was found. Police said firefighters brought the man outside the apartment, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Neither victim has been identified.

The fire department later ruled the fire arson.

According to police, the deaths were not the result of smoke inhalation or the fire, prompting an investigation of what they called a fire of a suspicious nature.
