LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Dental school students and teachers will be treating dozens of children for free at Children’s Dental Day in Lincoln.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry says children from eight communities will receive nearly $100,000 in care Feb. 1. The care includes cleanings, extractions, fillings and root canals.

The children participating this year are being screened for their dental needs so the dental experts will know what to expect that day.

The school says it’s treated more than 6,000 children and provided services valued at more than $3 million to low-income and underserved Nebraska children since 2001.
