WOONCOCKET, R.I. (AP) - The family of a Rhode Island woman killed when she was struck by a car after she fell when her walker got stuck in a sidewalk hole is seeking liability damages from the city of Woonsocket.
The Call reports that an attorney for the family of Marian Morrow filed notice with the city clerk seeking the statutory limit of $100,000 for municipal damages in a personal injury case.
The 64-year-old Morrow was struck Nov. 4 and died at the hospital four days later. She was killed as she returned to a senior housing complex.
A city attorney says he will refer the matter to the Rhode Island Inter-Local Trust, a risk pool which provides the city with insurance to cover damages arising from personal injury claims.
