HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The former developers of Hartford’s minor league ballpark, who recently lost a legal case against the city over construction delays, are asking for a new trial or for a judge to overrule the jury’s verdict.
The Hartford Courant reports that the developers argue in new motions that they are due a new trial because the courts treated Centerplan and DoNo as one entity, which did not allow DoNo to make its own, separate case.
In addition, the filings ask a judge to find that the evidence presented at a trial would not lead a “reasonable jury” to reach another conclusion.
The jury this month ordered the developers to pay the city $335,000 in the dispute that kept the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats on the road for a year.
The city had no comment Monday.
