Police ID man’s body found in Joe’s Pond

DANVILLE, Vt. (AP) - Police are investigating the discovery of man’s body found in Joe’s Pond in the northern Vermont community of West Danville.

Vermont State Police have identified the man as 63-year-old John Allen of St. Johnsbury.

Police say Allen’s family owns two camps on Joe’s Pond.

The Caledonian Record reports that a camp owner found the body floating in the water about 30 feet (9.1 meters) from shore on Wednesday.

Police say an autopsy is being performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact the Vermont State Police barracks in St. Johnsbury.
