BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Investigators say a Colorado man seeking full child custody made false statements about his common-law wife trying to shoot him.
The Daily Camera reports 29-year-old Nicholas Antley told investigators that Elena Michael punched and shot at him in April.
Antley was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of attempt to influence a public official, false reporting, domestic violence, possession of weapons by a previous offender, and violation of bail bond conditions.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office initially arrested Michael on suspicion of attempted murder after Antley called 911 and reported the attempted shooting near the couple’s house in Coal Creek Canyon, northwest of Denver.
Prosecutors have dropped the charges against Michael, who police determined was not there at the time.
Online jail records did not indicate if Antley has an attorney.
