BELLEVUE, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a man shot by a police officer in an Omaha suburb has died.

Bellevue police say officers were sent around 11:30 p.m. Thursday to a home where a woman reported that her boyfriend was drunk, armed and suicidal. Police say the officers heard shots near the home as they arrived. Police say one officer helped the woman flee the home and then shot the man. He was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn’t been released.

Bellevue police Lt. Andy Jashinske says no one else was injured. It’s unclear how many shots were fired and whether the man shot at the officer.
