PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A firefighter has been taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at a Florida power plant.

Escambia County spokeswoman Hana Frenette says the fire started at a coal silo in Pensacola early Saturday morning. It took firefighters nearly three hours to completely extinguish it.

A spokeswoman for Gulf Power’s Plant Crist told the Pensacola News Journal that the fire did not cause significant damage to the silo and is not expected to impact power for customers.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

The firefighter suffered a broken arm. No one else was injured.
