PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An upcoming honor flight from Rhode Island will be entirely female for the first time.

Honor Flight “Victory” will head to Washington next month with veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam war and from Panama and Kuwait.

The veterans range in age from 47 to 96, and will be accompanied by guardians who are all women as well.

Their honor flight will include a visit to the World War II Memorial and the Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, among other stops.

The Rhode Island Fire Chief’s Honor Flight is organizing the free trip for the veterans.

The nonprofit has been taking local veterans to D.C. memorials since 2012.
