President Trump tweeted his support for a guest on “Fox & Friends” who criticized the idea that climate change is a threat or manmade.

Mr. Trump tweeted a quote from Patrick Moore, a former Greenpeace activist, who said that global warming was “fake science.”

“The whole climate crisis is not only Fake News, it’s Fake Science,” Mr. Trump tweeted. “There is no climate crisis, there’s weather and climate all around the world, and in fact carbon dioxide is the main building block of all life.”

The president added a “Wow!” on the end of the tweet.

Mr. Moore was critical of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed Green New Deal, describing it as a “silly plan” for a “perfectly natural phenomenon.”

“Yes, of course, climate change is real. It’s been happening since the beginning of time,” he said. “But it’s not dangerous, and it’s not made by people.”

Mr. Trump has been skeptical about the validity of climate change. He cited the polar vortex in February to cast doubt on global warming and minimized the importance of a report from his own administration that current climate change trends could kill almost 10,000 people a year by the end of the century.
