SENECA, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman has died after she was shot during a burglary at her home last week.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said in a news release that 73-year-old Geraldine M. Castle of Walhalla died Monday evening at Greenville Memorial Hospital from her injuries.

Police say Castle had been shot several times during the burglary March 7.

Nineteen-year-old Decota Castle Brown and a 17-year-old male had been arrested and charged with attempted murder and burglary. Police plan to upgrade the charges to murder.

It was not known if Brown has an attorney yet who could comment on the charges.
