GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A 47-year-old California man who was arrested after he led officers on a wild mountain highway chase in a motorhome at Lake Tahoe has been returned to Nevada to face charges after he failed to show up at a court appearance in January.
Christopher Debastiani of Alturas reached speeds of 80 mph (128 kph) before he crashed into a building in August about 30 miles (48 kilometers) away in Douglas County.
Authorities say he skipped out on a hearing in Douglas County District Court Jan. 15 on charges including felony eluding.

The Record-Courier reports he’s been held in the county jail on $10,000 bail since he was returned to the county Feb. 23.
Debastiani denies any wrongdoing. It’s not clear if he has an attorney or will be appointed one at a pending court appearance.
