JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina couple is going to prison after pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor and statutory rape of a child by an adult.
News outlets report an Onslow County judge sentenced Diane and Matthew Maynard of Sneads Ferry on Monday to a maximum of 47 years in prison. When released, the judge ordered the couple to be classified as lifetime sex offenders and be subject to a lifetime of satellite-based monitoring.
Deputies arrested the couple in January 2018 following a report of child pornography at a residence. Investigators say a citizen found a video of two children having sex with a man and a woman who turned out to be the Maynards. According to deputies, the couple had recorded their sex acts with the children.
