Oro Valley police: Man accused in shooting death of his wife

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Oro Valley say they have arrested a man in connection with the death of his wife last month.

They say 37-year-old Trevor Draegeth was taken into custody Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Police say Draegeth called 911 on Feb. 12 to report his 40-year-old wife had committed suicide.

When officers arrived, they found Laurie Draegeth with obvious gunshot trauma.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on the subsequent investigation, police say probable cause was established for the arrest of Trevor Draegeth.

It was unclear Wednesday if Draegeth has a lawyer yet.

Police say two young children were asleep in the home at the time of the incident and are staying with relatives.
