SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Two convicted robbers are charged with running over a woman and killing her during a purse snatching in Orange County.
The Los Angeles Times says Giovanni Guy and Gregory Walker were charged Friday with murder with special circumstances, making them eligible for the death penalty.
It’s unclear if they have attorneys.
Prosecutors say the men grabbed the 31-year-old woman, threw her down and grabbed her purse Wednesday morning at Garden Grove Plaza.
Prosecutors say the purse strap wrapped around the woman’s wrist. Video showed her struggling as she was dragged back to the getaway car, then dragged along and run over as the SUV fled.
A robbery task force that had been watching the SUV followed the men and arrested them.
A third man has been charged with robbery.
