STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - An Indiana man wanted for murder has been arrested in Mississippi.
Local news outlets report 34-year-old James Dodson was arrested Thursday by the U.S. marshals in the northeast Mississippi city of Starkville.
Police say Dodson killed Michael LoVett Jr. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 9. LoVett was found shot multiple times on the sidewalk in front of the barbershop he owned.
Dodson was booked into the Oktibbeha (awk-TIHB’-ee-hah) County jail to await extradition.
The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne reports that a warrant says Dodson entered the barbershop for a haircut and got into an argument, leaving before the haircut was finished. Police say Dodson returned and shot LoVett, identifying Dodson from a gas station surveillance camera. Police say a second unidentified person also shot at LoVett.
