LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a horse was killed when struck by a pickup after getting spooked and running from a staging area for a downtown parade.
Police say the horse died at the scene Saturday while the two people in the truck suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The incident occurred just before the start of the Helldorado Parade , an annual cowboy-themed event celebrating Las Vegas’ past as part of the Wild West.
