FONTANA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man with a semi-automatic handgun was shot and wounded by police during a foot chase in Southern California.
Police in Fontana say when officers pulled over a car late Saturday a man sprinted from the scene carrying a gun.
Officials say during the pursuit, the man was shot. Additional details on the shooting were not immediately released.
KABC-TV reports the suspect, Devon King, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries to his legs.
King was arrested on suspicion of parole violation and being ex-felon in possession of a handgun. Additional charges are possible.
It wasn’t known Sunday if the 29-year-old has an attorney.
The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department has taken over the investigation.
