COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - A 20-year-old Mississippi man has pleaded not guilty to capital murder charges accusing him of killing three men in a mobile home.
News outlets report that Clark Earl Allen Jr. was indicted Monday.
WTVA-TV reports that he was arraigned Tuesday in Lowndes County Circuit Court.
He’s charged in the deaths of 22-year-old Mauricio Nance of Columbus, 24-year-old Tyshun Fields of Crawford and 31-year-old Demario Snell of Artesia in Snell’s home on Jan. 15.
The Commercial Dispatch quotes arrest affidavits as stating that Allen tried to work out a marijuana deal, but reports that the affidavits don’t link that allegation to the killing.
Investigators found the bodies in Snell’s home after gunshots were reported in Artesia, a small town about 10 miles (17 kilometers) east-southeast of Starkville.
