AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed after officers were forced to shoot a suspect involved in a domestic incident with a woman in Auburn.
KOMO reports officers were called to the Palermo Apartments at 12:47 a.m. Monday, where they found a man involved in an argument in the parking lot.
Dave Colglazier with Auburn police says the man and two responding officers engaged in a physical fight during which the suspect showed a knife that he refused to drop. He said one shot was fired by an officer, striking and killing the man.
None of the involved officers were hurt and the woman wasn’t injured.
The Valley Investigations Team will now take over the investigation. Both officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as is standard policy in officer-involved shootings.
