MONTEBELLO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a marked police SUV with weapons inside has been stolen from a police parking lot in Southern California.
The Montebello Police Department said Wednesday that surveillance video recorded an individual entering one of its patrol SUVs and driving it off around 2:30 a.m. on March 17.
A police statement says the 2018 Ford Explorer contained a loaded AR-15 police rifle, a loaded police shotgun and loaded less-lethal shotgun. The statement says all weapons were locked and secured in the vehicle and all keys are accounted for.
The SUV is described as mostly black with a white roof and white doors. The words “Montebello Police” are along both sides and on the rear.
Montebello is a city of about 64,000 people 12 miles (19 kilometers) east of Los Angeles.
