PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Portland man has been sentenced to five years in prison after he was convicted of shooting at another driver.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports 39-year-old Garvin Franklin Jr., was sentenced Wednesday for the October 23, 2018, incident.

He had been convicted of one count of unlawful use of a weapon, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Franklin is reported to have shot at a stranger while driving.

Court documents say the victim told police that Franklin yelled at him, stopped his vehicle in front of the victim’s car, and pointed a gun at him. The victim said that as he drove around Franklin’s car, he heard one shot, and then another as he accelerated.

The victim was not injured.

Police say Franklin told them he fired the gun.
