WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A woman suspected of abducting her 8-year-old daughter in violation of a family court order has been deemed to pose a risk to the child.

Eight-year-old Mia Funes was last seen Friday with her biological mother, Jessica Ewing, at a Delaware elementary school. Authorities believe her mother has taken the youngster in violation of a court order issued that same day.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports that the court order awarding temporary placement of the girl with her father described a “prospect of immediate and irreparable harm” to Mia by her mother. The newspaper quotes an attorney representing Mia’s father saying Ewing has made threats amid a custody fight.

Police in the Delaware town of Wyoming say Ewing is driving a blue 2019 Toyota Corolla registered in Arkansas.
