BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Theft charges have been filed against a Morton County man accused of stealing cattle.
KXMB-TV says there have been multiple reports of missing cattle in the Brien and Solen areas in the past three years. And, now investigators believe they’ve found the man responsible, tracing 22 stolen animals to Steven Weinberger, of Brien.
He has been charged with seven felony counts of theft of property. Authorities say the stolen cattle were sold independently to other ranchers who eventually sold their cattle at livestock barns.
Weinberger’s preliminary hearing is set for July 1.
