PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - A fast-moving fire has roared through a building in northern New Jersey, forcing residents to flee to safety as the structure partially collapsed.
The fire in the three-story building on River Street in Paterson broke out shortly before 1 a.m. Monday. Witnesses say heavy flames burned throughout the structure, which appeared to house several businesses and apartments.
Authorities say at least three people, including a toddler, were displaced by the fire. But no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
